The Neurotechnology minor prepares students for internships and entry-level careers in neurotechnology, the medical device industry, research and development jobs, or to enter graduate programs in neural engineering, neuroscience, computer science, and biomedical engineering, and electrical engineering.

Requirements

  • Complete 16 total credits including:
    • 2 foundational courses
    • 1 core course
    • 2 elective courses
    •  Additional credits can come from any category of Neuro Course List
  • Additional Criteria:
    • Must receive a C grade or higher in all minor courses
    • Average GPA of 3.0 or higher in all minor courses

HOW TO APPLY

STEPS

1.   Declare your major with your major academic advisor and discuss with them about how additional requirements may affect your graduation timeline before adding the Neurotechnology Minor
2.  Complete the pre-requisite courses according to application criteria (see below)
3.  Complete the Neurotechnology Minor application
4.  Meet with the Academic Advisor for the Neurotechnology Program for questions and to plan out coursework.

APPLICATION CRITERIA

  • Students need full major status in a STEM major at the University of Utah,
  • A 2.5 cumulative GPA
  • C grade or higher in pre-requisite coursework*:
    • PHYS 2210
    • MATH 2250 or MATH 2270 + MATH 2280

*Equivalent coursework from accredited institutions may also be considered
